The real story...

Ok, so I knew it was coming. Rob and I have been talking for a couple of months, and I had gone ring looking by myself to tell him a little of what I likes (round stone, side accents). SO Rob was going to go ring shopping on Saturday. I knew this, I even knew he might buy something. I was supposed to be out of town...but my plans changed, so I told Rob that what ever he does just tell me he didn't find anything. Of course boys never listen...

Rob gets back to his apartment, where I had been painting his office all afternoon, and says "I didn't get anything" then starts laughing. I go into the bedroom to get my stuff because Rob is going to drive me on a couple of errands and what do I see but a fancy bag sitting on the chair. Rob says "That's what I didn't buy you." and starts laughing again. I told him he should put it away, but he thought it was more fun his way.

On the way to the errands Rob INSISTS on telling me all about his day, including describing all of the rings he really "didn't" buy, and the one he "didn't buy." The boy is driving me nuts. We went to my apartment to drop off the car (I have better parking) and decided that Monday is the only day this week I have the evening to go to dinner. So we plan our fancy dinner to go to the restaurant where we had our first date, and then to Lincoln Center to the fountain where Rob first held my hand. This gives Rob a couple of days too as he is (at this point) still waiting for some permission.

Then we went to see 27 Dresses. Right before the movie starts Rob sees that my Dad had called, so he decides to call my Dad back DURING THE PREVIEWS. I said he cant' do that, he says why not, I say because I'm right here, and he says that it will be fun. (Sorry Dad, I was next to Rob when you talked to hi, but I had my ears covered the whole time and was bright red) Rob really had his fun with taunting me.

Then after the movie Rob says do we really have to wait until Monday. I told him he could do whatever he wanted since he didn't buy anything. (To tell teh truth I was pretty happy and giggly throughout the afternoon.)

We went back to Rob's apartment and I wanted to check on the paint. But Rob told me to sit down. I said no I have to check the paint. And he told me to stay there. I said "You're going to do it NOW?!" He said yes and sat down in front of me.

It went something along the lines of you are the most wonderful woman and something and something and something and will you marry me? I don't really remember as I started to laugh. Some cry I laugh. Then he gave me the box. And I asked to open it and if I got to put the ring on. Rob said "Well it's yours...wait did you answer?" I said yes, and laughed some more.

When I calmed down I called my family. And then the tears started. Rob just said "There are the tears I paid for :)"

And that is the whole story. Tonight we go for our fancy dinner and to Lincoln Center. I told Rob that I've been practicing for this a long time. Just look at this picture...

Rob asked a question last night...

...and I said YES!

Las Vegas

Rob and I went to Vegas last weekend. We had a blast gambling away our money. I have no pictures of any of this. But before we left we took a three hour horseback ride through El Dorado Canyon. We got to see all of the gold mines. And some big horn sheep. So for my Daddy and all the hunters...these pics are for you.

Wow, already it's the end of January. Where did the month go. It's no good when the year is already flying by. Well, I made it back from Christmas and had a nice quiet easy week at work and then everything wen nuts. The schedule at work is getting shifted a lot right now. The show is undergoing some big changes, and with teh re-writes, and the artists working like crazy, the episodes we were supposed to test just weren't ready in tome. So we had to cancel and reschedule, giving ourselves a TRIPLE week.

Generally when we do our research we test one episode at a time over a two day period, and then have several days off to analyze and write the report. Occasionally we will have a Double week, where we test two episodes over two days and then have several days off to write the report. We had our first TRIPLE just before Thanksgiving, testing three episodes over five days and then had ten days off to analyze and write. Last week was number two. We tested three episodes over six days.

Friday - one show,
Monday - cancel due to snow, unfortunatly I didn't get teh message until arriveing at the office at 7am.
Tuesday - two shows (I left after the first to get to the office to start with the data and analysis - this episode had to be presented Tuesday at 3 - so we did in 7 hours what nomaly takes 4-7 days - never again)
Wednesday - one show
Thursday - one show
Friday - one show and a report due

NOw six days off to prep for the next one. Which now that I look at is actually FOUR episodes over seven days... Hmmm it's Wednesday/Thursday off then Monday - Thursday. How am I ever going to rest again.

At least I got to spend last weekend on vacation in Las Vegas with Rob.

So January is coming to a close, and work seems to be all I have accomplished.

I start classes at Hunter College next week. I'll keep you posted.

A Pictoral Look at Christmas

Rob and I started with gifts to each other on the 22nd. Here is me opening my stocking. Rob thoughtfully got me a cookie mix, that unfortunately opened before I took it out. Oops.
This is the hat I chose for Rob. I'm trying to draw him out a bit.Christmas morning with Flip.Keith and Haley at the Ables' Christmas. The "Kids" Clint, Katie, Kasey, Rob, Emily, ChrisThe Lipkes all sat in a row for dinner.Mom, Emmy, and Grant.Mom-mom and the grandkids. The famHaley saying good-bye...Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

It is officially 2008. How the last year flew by... The Christmas tree is packed and put away and I am back to work, and waiting on getting my account access renewed, so in the meantime, all I have is internet access.

The holidays are over, and my whirlwind tour of Indiana. After partying it up with the Frazier and Ables families, Rob and I made a stop over in Indianapolis to visit with Sara, Dave, Nick, and Kirsten. Then it was back to New York to attend a wedding.
The rest of my break was spent watching my new seasons of Gilmore Girls, and Grey's Anatomy. The amount of tv I can watch is obscene, but I do multi task, cleaning and making flash cards while I watch.

New Year's Resolution:
1. Don't let problems that aren't mine become mine. I don't have to do everything, I can let others take care of themselves.

Happy 2008!
